 Waste Treatment

Waste Water Treatment: RLIC operates and maintains a waste water treatment plant which is used to treat sewage generated within the Ras Laffan Industrial City. The treated water is reused for irrigating green spaces and landscaping within RLIC.

Non-Hazardous Waste Management: MIC and RLIC operate a non-hazardous waste management facility (WMF). The WMF consists of units to handle a variety of waste; a lined landfill unit designed to handle operational waste such as catalysts and mole sieves, a land treatment unit designed to handle oily and chemically contaminated soil, liquid digested sewage sludge, wood chips and tree trimmings, and an inert waste pile unit designed for the disposal of construction and demolition waste such as concrete, bricks, blocks and asphalt.

Hazardous Waste Treatment: MIC operates a hazardous waste treatment facility (HWF) which serves as the State's need for treating and disposing of a variety of hazardous waste generated from QP facilities, heavy industries, educational facilities and other government instituitions. The HWF ensures business continuity by maintaining standards for plant reliability and availability.
